about

If you’re after the next pop-punk sensation from the UK, look no further. First song and single 'Boyfriend' opens with a simple but huge chorus. The song is arguably the bands most power pop effort so far, but it works incredibly well, what they have done is to create a song you can sing along to, has a great rock'n'roll guitar solo and is a song that feels perfect for radio play.
Second offering 'Faith In Me' has more bite but ultimately is no less catchy, ‘chuggier’ guitars sitting on the verses, big 'woah' vocals littered throughout the song keep the vocal hooks as present as always. The band also uses the quiet to loud dynamics very well in this song and really showcases their abilities as musicians. The song has a great drum filled backbone, which keeps everything steady for the guitars and harmonies to take the lead.
'Call You Mine (I Don't Want To)’ is the EP closer, and is a great way to do it. Most Pop-Punk/Rock bands, will almost predictably throw the expected power ballad in to close a CD, not A New Day, they save what I think will become a huge live favourite until the end, it’s just as powerful as the other songs but features great vocal interplay between lead singer/guitarist Chris and Bassist Scott. This is great because the different tones of their voices is very complimentary and adds a charm to this song.
So to summarise, the band will be serving up a perfect slice of power pop punk as the soundtrack to your summer.
